Right now is a pretty stressing time for me, with all the finals coming in a few days and all, so I decided to make a quick post about some stress reducing food with some tips to help you stay up all night. If there is one thing that five years of college education that has taught me anything, it’s how to cram and stay up all night, whether it be to drink all night or study. Click to see more..

So, you know how you get those bags under your eyes after you stay up for a few days? That means your body used up vitamins in reserve and its showing up where your skins are thin, like under your eyes. So what do you do? You eat.

First item on the list is oranges, or you can substitute vitamin C pills instead. But pills don’t quite give you that refreshed boost so it’s up to you. Vitamin C not only reduces stress and return blood pressure and cortisol to normal level, but it also helps you to eradicate those free radicals floating around your body. So pop ‘em or peel ‘em. It’s up to you, but take ‘em.

Second is sweet potatoes. You know how you crave for food, or sweets in the middle of the night? It’s because your brain, surprisingly uses up a lot of calorie during intensive activity, such as studying or playing computer games really, really, hard.

Dried apricots have magnesium which relaxes muscles as well as reduces stress.

Various nuts, almonds, pistachios, and walnuts also reduce stress and boost immune system, as well as lower blood pressure.

Turkey has L-tryptophan which has calming effects as well as relatively low in fat and high in protein. This partially explains why you feel so tired/sleepy after you eat it. I don’t recommend it for staying up all night.

Spinach has tons of magnesium which reduces migraine headaches and relieves feeling of fatigue.

Salmon contains lot of omega-3 fatty acids that can reduce stress and aids against heart disease. It also keeps the cortisol level low.

Avocados are rich in monosaturated fat (the good fat) as well as potassium (more than bananas). It also reduces blood pressure.
